Outlaw Star starts off stumbling, with some iffy animation and some really awful moments here and there. By the time the season ends, however, this is a real HELL YEAH show. Spaceships duel using robot arms, a cowboy shoots magic shells out of his space-gun, there's a hot female ninja, and there's even some decent character development going on. The real story of Outlaw Star is that it debuted during a season of much bigger competitors, and there just wasn't enough good will to go around, so it was prematurely cancelled. See this show, enjoy the heck out of the awesome space pirate action, but know that the ending builds to further seasons that will probably never happen.
