− | In the "Why the first five episodes?" section, should we bother to explain how the first episode isn't representative of the rest of the series. I know 99% of ADTRW already knows about the "surprises" we find out a few episodes into the show, and you don't go into detail about them, but I'd say this page shouldn't even mention that this show has epic/cosmic levels of sci-fi. That twist is one of the biggest hooks in the first few episodes. I guess we can't get out of categorizing it as sci-fi, though, (although I kind of wish we could -_-).--Xboxpants 20:30, 19 January 2007 (CET)
I'm going to disagree with you on this. Haruhi is only SciFi to the extent that Madeline L'Engle's "A Wrinkle in Time" is SciFi. Haruhi's powers are magic, nothing more. We are never given any information about how Haruhi's powers work, why they work, the nature by which they work, or even any information on how she got them in the first place. Even Star Wars explained away the force with "Midiclorians." I'm going to go ahead and change it to fantasy. If you want to change it back, feel free to do so. Dr. Pwn 04:07, 22 January 2007 (CET)
It's still has Sci-Fi Elements. For one Yuki's explanation has deep Sci-Fi roots, Mikuru is a time traveler, and a few of the eps has a scientific nature, but still false. I'll settle with it being both because I can't deny there are fantastical elements in the story. Golden315
