Main Description
30 year old single childless Daikichi meets Rin, his six year old aunt who was conceived out of wedlock by his grandfather that had recently passed away. Since no one wants to adopt the illegitimate black sheep child, Daikichi steps up to the plate and becomes her caretaker, even though he has no prior experiences with child care. Throughout the year he learns how to care for Rin properly as they both learn lessons and overcome the day to day challenges of everyday life.

Okay first off, I highly highly recommend not reading the manga past volume 4/chapter 24 or sticking to the anime. It goes off into a completely different direction and for the worse. Way worse.
With that out of the way, onto the meat of the series. It's adorable, fun, and balances perfectly the real struggles and positives of raising a kid without becoming cynical nor overly sweet. The problems they face are ones everybody can relate to like starting school or coming down with the flu. Guaranteed to bring a smile to your face with every episode.
