IShallRiseAgain
The original series is a pretty great cyberpunk action series. The characters are well developed and the setting is pretty interesting. Unfortunately, due to health problems the author was forced to end it early and it wasn't very good. Last Order retcons the original ending and continues the story. The new series is pretty great too, but suffers from an overly long tournament arc.
Sydnid
The setting is pretty amazing, you could tell why James Cameron wanted to make a movie out of it. The action is good and gory and the decently paced story has the right amount of mystery. Unfortunately the sequel may have gone a bit too 'DBZ' with some quite ridiculous powerups, the old charm few and far between.
