I honestly believe Cowboy Bebop is one of the best animes ever made by a couple of reasons. First, the style is quite unique, and the animation is fluid. The fight scenes don't suffer from shortcuts that turn the whole thing into a slide presentation. The show is like a "Procedural Cop Show" except in Space, and with Bounty-Hunters, with a lot of motw episodes, but each episode is so interesting and unique that it makes watching the whole thing a bliss. The setting and mood is fantastic, and the characters are all interesting. Even if you don't like Japanese animation much (God knows what you're doing in this wiki then), chances are that this specific show will entertain you.

Sir, I suggest you watch Cowboy Bebop, because it is simply the Ultimate Anime. Yes, it's the best you'll ever find. Apart from having the greatest soundtrack ever produced, it has fantastic writing, splendid voice acting, dazzling art and it's thrilling, funny and dramatic all at the same time. In addition, it's hands down the best stepping stone into anime for anyone who grew up in a Western culture, because of the similarities it shares with the American TV format. Storywise, it follows a group of bounty hunters in a future sci-fi setting, mainly in an episodically unrelated fashion, but every now and then there'll be a storyline episode that binds everything together into pure genius orgasm. If by some chance you end up not liking this show, you don't deserve to be entertained by the rest of the anime medium has to offer. Note that there's also a full-length movie that supposedly fits in between episodes 21 and 22.

Although not my favorite show, it is definitely worth watching. The fact that a crucial scene from the final episode has become a catch phrase that does not fall under the jurisdiction set forth by spoiler rules, further strengthens the point that this is a show that everyone who hasn't seen it should go and watch it. The characters are very interesting and likable, and the show itself has both comedic and action packed scenes.

Craptacular!

Even if the idea of a group of eccentric bounty hunters in a sort of grungy sci-fi universe doesn't really fit with you, this show is still worth watching for the incredible storytelling. The series' main arc is covered over the course of about 5 of the 26 episodes, with the others being different adventures against villain of the moment or giving character depth. With more and more giant epics, few animes have said so much with so little.

This is one of my all-time favourites; and my only issue with it is that there are a lot of 'filler' episodes, where nothing significant happens, and the characters don't develop. Would somebody mind posting an episode guide that lets you avoid watching them?
