Memories is made up of three different short stories adapted from the Manga of Katsuhiro Otomo:

Magnetic Rose

Probably the strongest of the stories, the script was written by a certain Satoshi Kon: The general tone is that of a science-fiction ghost story, and top-notch animation certainly helps to convey the eerie feeling of the derelict space station explored by the protagonists.

Stink Bug

Coming as a heavy contrast to Magnetic Rose, Stink Bug tells the story of a hapless lab tech who accidentally turns himself into a living chemical weapon. Contains beautiful amounts of military hardware spam and explosions.

Cannon Fodder

Perhaps the most depressing of the Stories, Cannon Fodder could best be described as a slice of life about a mix of World War One and Ninteen Eighty Four, revolving around a city with an artillery fetish gone wild.
