Season one bordered just above my "fail" level because it had just enough extra gimmicks to make you think they were going somewhere other than the standard harem/fanservice path. Saito occasionally exhibited balls, Louise occasionally exhibited honor, and it looked like there was brewing tension between commoners and mages that was going to wind up with Saito and Louise in the center of it all. Okay, I'll grit my teeth through the stupid harem plots.
And then--Season 2. Add more pointless fanservice characters, in spite of having plenty, and then simply remove anything good from season one. I want those hours back.
