Pokémon are captured and trained to battle in what are essentially magical cockfights.

Main Description

Ash Ketchum, a very spirited 10-year-old, has plans to become the greatest Pokémon Master in the world. He starts off his journey with just a single Pokémon creature to his name... Pikachu. In order to become a master trainer, Ash travels from town to town, collecting new Pokémon and engaging in battles.

During his adventures, he makes many friends and enemies. He quickly gathers together a small ragtag posse. He and his two new best friends Misty and Brock are constantly being harassed by the three most moronic members of Team Rocket... an organization determined to take over the world. Jesse, James, and their talking Pokémon Meowth try time and time again to capture Ash's Pikachu.

Personal Opinions

Big Big Moon

I can't believe I skipped piano lessons to watch this show when I was a kid.

Dan a man

This can be a fun show to watch if you happen to be channel surfing and come across it. The first several seasons are particularly good. All 26 episodes of the very first season are now available on Region 1 DVDs, and are at least worth a rent for the nostalgia. Although the action doesn't always compare to more serious anime, the battles in Pokémon have always been surprisingly entertaining and well done.
