The Sketchbook anime is one of the most straightforward slice-of-life shows I've come across. Unlike a lot of similar shows, it doesn't rely on moé archetypes. There's no drama or romance either. It doesn't even focus on comedy very much. All in all, a very relaxing show. | The Sketchbook anime is one of the most straightforward slice-of-life shows I've come across. + | Sketchbook is really quite a peaceful, relaxing anime. Helopticor covered it fairly well. It's simply Sora, her friends, and the occasional cats. Put together, it is quite enjoyable, and Sora's internal monologueing works really well given her personality. About half way through, a character is introduced that doesn't know Japanese all that well, and a number of the jokes don't translate that well through the subtitles, but that's a minor qualm about the show. Recommended if you want something uplifting and relaxing. | ||
