I would love to see a decent English dub of this show. Half of it's in English already and a lot of the humor would actually translate pretty well. It's just such a weirdly ''American'' show, and most definitely something different. | I would love to see a decent English dub of this show. Sum it up in a Sentence:
A tribute to western animation about angels who were too vulgar for heaven and now they have to fight ghosts in order to be allowed back in.
Main Description
The Anarchy sisters, Panty and Stocking, are angels who were kicked out of Heaven due to their bad behavior. They are sent to Daten City, a place located on the edge of Heaven and Hell. Strange monsters called "Ghosts" besiege the city, but the Anarchy sisters wield a variety of mysterious powers, most notably their ability to transform their underwear into weapons.
Under the watchful eye of Reverend Garterbelt, and with their pet zipper-dog Chuck, it's up to Panty and Stocking to destroy these Ghosts, in order to collect enough Heaven Coins to return to Heaven.

This hilarious show pushes past the borders of decency and relies heavily on crude and vulgar humor. It also has very interesting and entertaining visuals. Furthermore, its soundtrack is amazing. The show also isn't afraid to experiment a little and there are some quite unique episodes in the series. This is show that is worth checking out if you are into western comedy cartoons.
Dj Meow Mix
This show is absolutely insane and is not afraid to show it. I suppose this show could best be described as Gainax reaching critical mass. On that note, the show really pushes obscene humor, and if you are easily grossed out by various bodily fluids in enormous amounts, extreme bondage fetishes, destruction and multilation, this may not be the show for you! However, with its fast paced and quirky animation style, characters, fight scenes and music, this is definitely a show you'll never forget. Most episodes are divided into two separate scenarios, with occasional variances in animation style as well to keep you on your toes. Teddyloid and crew did a fantastic job with the soundtrack, it has remained a permanent fixture on my playlists ever since release. I can't sing this show's praises enough.
Redcrimson
Rude, crass and unapologetic. Gainax once again pushes the boundaries(and definition) of anime in this zany, raunchy and undoubtedly drug-induced nod to western animation. Visually inventive, chock-full of fun characters, with humor that would make Matt Stone and Trey Parker uncomfortable, it also boasts what is easily one of the best soundtracks in the history of anything.
Willsun
This show is literally made for westerners who watch anime. All gross or sexual stuff is done in jest, without any detail that isn't necessary to get the joke across, and shouldn't really put off anyone but the wimpiest girly men. Definitely tickles your comedy bone and is also a treat to your ears. --Willsun 10:36, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

"Panty and Stocking" plays like a lost, oversexed Cartoon Network show from the mid-90s. You'll feel major pangs of nostalgia while you watch this, not just from anime series, but for the Saturday morning cartoons you saw if you were born between 1985 and 1992. Even the magical girl transformation scene seems like a throwback to 90s Cartoon Network, when "Sailor Moon" used to be on. Admit it, before "Dragonball Z" came around and introduced you to the notion of 'anime', you didn't think of "Sailor Moon" as anime, just as another cartoon.
The reaction to this show has been very weird. The Japanese are pretty indifferent to it, while hardcore American otaku almost universally loathe it. Pockets of saner English-speaking anime fans (like the ones on this wiki). I really love that this show in particular just has anime snobs all riled up, thinking that it's the worst thing to ever happen to the genre and that no-one will ever take them seriously again. I've actually been getting people to watch the show with that very endorsement.
Now then, while some episodes aren't as good as others, overall it's one of the funniest and certainly one of the most aggressively unique shows out there. For all that it borrows from "Invader Zim", "Powerpuff Girls", "Ren and Stimpy", and "Courage the Cowardly Dog", it's on it's own plain of existence. The animation style is great fun, the music insanely catchy, and the humor delightfully dirty-minded.
I would love to see a decent English dub of this show. Half of it's in English already and a lot of the humor would actually translate pretty well. It's just such a weirdly American show, and most definitely something different.
