Main Description
2001 Nights is a series of short stories set in the same setting exploring man kind's exploration and expansion into space, our struggles, our accomplishments, our failures. It is very much in the vein of classic hard science fiction, and is strewn with homages to these works.
As the name places, it is a tribute to 2001: A Space Odyssey in setting and a tribute to One Thousand and One Nights in terms of how it is collected.

2001 Nights is kind of bizarre. It's a series of short stories produced over a decade. It's hard science fiction in the most classic of sense. It is extremely well constructed. It's fantastic.
I rather enjoyed it, though I must admit I sort of disagree with its thematics at times, and it did sometimes get a bit silly. It has a tendency to get extremely pessimistic about humanity to the point of almost sheer absurdity (future culture has apparently abandoned much of the scientific method of testing conditions for safety...). These foibles are minor and largely philosophy driven. Regardless of them, 2001 Nights is a fantastic work of science fiction and incredible in its very existence.
