A device called the DC Mini has been created that allows one's dreams to be viewed and analyzed. The title character is a young woman who is able to use the DC Mini not only to view but actually enter the subject's dreams and interact with them.
Everything is fine until several of the DC Mini units have been stolen. The thief is able to use the DC Mini to alter the dreams of people who have previously used the unit; in fact the victims don't even need to be sleeping to be affected.
