The visuals are stunning. Karas uses a combination of 2D and 3D, something that doesn't really work with anime. In other series that use 3D and 2D, the result usually isn't very good, but this OVA blended it so perfectly, that it was like some parts were live-action. It looked absolutely beautiful.
The story was pretty good, kinda confusing at parts, but not too confusing. I really liked the characters. Their stories were intriguing and they were unique.
The battles are very nice, combined with the soundtrack and visuals they manage to elevate the fights to epic levels.
I really liked it and wish I could have seen it earlier. The story, soundtrack, visuals, everything just fits together great.

I'm the sort of person who hates when videogames move from gameplay to pre-rendered cinematics, and maybe that's why I hate this. I'm watching a cartoon, and the cartoon keeps cutting away to these CGI bits. I felt it was a little too obvious that the production teams were on different pages. The 2d might have a bunch of people staring off into the distance, while the 3d battle that they're supposed to be looking at happens in the same generic nether realm where Sailor Moon transforms. To me, the 3d is a complete waste as the bulk of it is only there to show off the fact that they spent a lot of money on it. It's like 3d movies when they have a character throw something straight into the camera just for an audience reaction. Meh.
