Sum it up in a Sentence:

The life and times of sister pairs in an all-girl Catholic academy in Tokyo.

Main Description

This series stars the various members of a council at an all-girl Catholic academy. At the school, the members of the Yamayuri Council (whose members make up the primary cast of the show), choose other students at the academy to be their petite sœur ("little sister") and in doing so, agree to provide them with good guidance and upbringing in and outside school, while the petite sœur promises fealty, obedience, and respect toward their grande sœur ("big sister"). Their relationship is solidified by the big sister in the relationship giving the little sister their rosary.

The story begins when a first-year student, Yumi Fukuzawa, is approached suddenly by a second-year student, Sachiko Ogasawara, who notices her unkempt neckerchief and straightens it. This simple act of kindness impacts Yumi greatly, and later that same day, Sachiko offers Yumi her rosary, but Yumi surprises the members of the Yamayuri Council by refusing it. Yumi eventually does accept the rosary, and the remainder of the show is Yumi growing closer to both Sachiko and the other members of the Council, as she, and the audience, learns more and more about the lives of the other students she spends much of her time with.

The series consists of three 13-episode seasons, and five-50 minute OVAs, all done by much of the same production staff.

Personal Opinions

Revolver Bunker

Started watching this since a lot of ADTRW goons seem to give it high praise. Was really surprised at the show. It felt like I was watching a good j-drama or some live action. It doesn't feel cliche and the plot doesn't feel forced. I'll have to check out season 2. (8.5/10)
