Main Description
After beng framed for the murder of Dr. Saotome, Ryoma Nagare is released from prison to stop the recently-revived Dr Saotome from destroying the world with the Shin Dragon. After failing to stop his plan, 99% of hummanity is killed and the rest goes into hiding in underground bunkers.

Much darker than the "sanitized" Getta Robo series of old, to bring it closer to the original manga. True to the genre, it's full of gritty manliness and Gaogaigar levels of awesomeness towards the end. If you're new to Getter Robo, then you'll be better off watching New Getter Robo as an introduction to the series. For people who are already familier with Getter then you should know what to expect - a dark, gritty world, large amounts of silliness, fighting and hotblooded passion. The story rarely makes sense (especially in the beginning), but this isn't why you're watching Getter Robo Armageddon - you're watching it to see giant robots beat the shit out of giant aliens or other giant robots, all of which will either bleed or explode when destroyed, maybe even both at the same time. If this puts you off, then this isn't the show for you.
