Sum it up in a Sentence

A young man with aspirations towards pop-stardom somehow ends up as the lead in a death metal band, and tries with little success to live a double life.

Description

Soichi Negishi is a shy and gentle young guitar player and singer who dreams of a career as a pop musician. Leaving the country side, he goes to Tokyo with hopes for making big. Dreams don't pay the bills though, but he did make it big: he's ended up as the lead singer and lead guitarist of a (in)famous death metal band called “Detroit Metal City.” In stage costume he is Johannes Krauser II, rumored to be a terrorist demon from hell, said (by himself) to have killed and raped his parents. Negishi despises DMC and all that it stands for, but for all of his kindheartedness, he can't escape his drive to perform, and his will to make big. Negishi struggles to balance his peaceful ordinary identity with the ridiculous darkness of Krauser II... badly.

Personal Opinions

Healbot

A hilarious premise - country bumpkin goes to Tokyo tries to make a living as popsinger (just imagine the softest love pop you can muster up), ends up as lead of a Death Metal band (including a change in voice and demeanor) - and great animation due to low episode count and length.

I heartily recommend this for anyone to watch except the easily offended. 5/5

Thirst Mutilator

Faithful to the comic, almost to a T. I got what I expected, and it was all wonderful. Humorous, well animated. 5/5.
