Main Description
Makoto Mizuhara- The main protagonist of the series, the one who originally finds the ruins and opens the gateway to El Hazard.
Nanami Jinnai- The heroine of the series and the sister of the antagonist, she too winds up in the world of El Hazard. However she mostly works against her brother throughout the series.
Katsuhiko Jinnai- The main antagonist to the series, the direct rival and nemesis to Makoto. He goes to the same school as Makoto but winds up being sucked into the world of El Hazard when Makoto activates the ruins.
Masamichi Fujisawa- A teacher from the school and the comic relief of the series. He winds up entering the world of El Hazard with the students. He is also known to drink and smoke excessively at times.

This is a wonderful OAV series to check out. While alot of fantasy anime tends to run on the side of drek, this one really keeps the story flowing throughout the series. There are really no lulls in the story to speak of, the characters keep the story going at a rather good pace.
