The manga suffers from serious pacing issues, and there is a lack of any sort of overall story. The show attempts to fix these issues and manages to do it pretty well. Overall, the series is decent and might be worth checking out if the concept interests you.
Mo_Steel
Burning spirit and corny jokes mark this anime fairly well. The characters are somewhat interesting, but the plots aren't particularly deep and the victories don't usually feel very moving because there doesn't seem to be a real sense of danger for the protagonist. Worth watching, but I wouldn't put it ahead of most.
