Sum it up in a Sentence

An all-new take on Go Nagai's Mazinger Z, made even more awesome by way of Giant Robo's Yasuhiro Imagawa.

Main Description

Now, in roughly the present, Juuzou Kabuto has taken up the fight once again to protect mankind from his once-comrade, Dr. Hell, and his army of Mechanical Beasts. Juuzou creates Mazinger Z in Zeus' image, and hands it down to his grandson Kouji, while Dr. Hell uses the cast off scraps of the Mycenaeans, as the cycle continues itself. Personal Opinions

AzraelNewtype

This is yet another example of what Yasuhiro Imagawa does best, weaving together a yarn about family, power, and responsibility through the simplest of concepts. I don't think anybody would accuse the original Mazinger Z of being particularly deep or meaningful, and that's perfectly fine, but Imagawa has a habit of elevating the narrative via slow build pacing and adding in new characters and plotlines gleaned from related works such that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Overall, this is a fairly excellent series, though its ending leaves a little to be desired until such time as a sequel is greenlit, since it echoes the original series rather directly there.
