Sum it up in a Sentence

Disaster strikes after a new psychotherapy device is stolen and used to make people fall into a deep sleep where their dreams merge together with one of a madman.

Main Description

A device called the DC Mini has been created that allows one's dreams to be viewed and analyzed. The title character is a young woman who is able to use the DC Mini not only to view but actually enter the subject's dreams and interact with them.

Everything is fine until several of the DC Mini units have been stolen. The thief is able to use the DC Mini to alter the dreams of people who have previously used the unit; in fact the victims don't even need to be sleeping to be affected. This ends up being disastrous as they are forced into the dream of a psychiatric patient, which drives them crazy until they are awakened from it. The situation gets really bad as the border between the real world and the dream world is blurred.

Paprika tries to set things straight from within the dream while Dr. Atsuko Chiba, one of the developers of the DC Mini, along with Detective Konakawa Toshimi attempt to hunt down the culprit in the real world.

Personal Opinions

I highly recommend this movie. The plot is strange yet fully understandable. The soundtrack is wonderful and the animation is top notch. See this in a theater if you have the chance.
