Main Description
Nao Kanzaki is an honest girl. Way way way too honest. Because of her overwhelming honesty, she gets roped into the "Liar Game", a game with incredibly high stakes, all based on lies. Nao is obviously out of her element. To help her she enlists the help of convicted scam artist Shin'ichi Akiyama. Together they play in various games of ever increasing mental complexity. Nao and Akiyama's goal is to get to the end of the Liar Game, saving others from financial ruin and other unspoken horrors along the way, and to ultimately take down the game once and for all.

I really like this series. It takes itself seriously, but it has lots of fun with the concept at the same time. It's sort of juvenile, but my favorite thing about this series is the faces that the other players make when Akiyama takes their supposedly airtight plan and completely shatters it. Beyond that it's a smart series that doesn't let you sit and read it idly, not that you'd want to, because it's very interesting to see how the psychological warfare between the major players plays out. The only thing that irks me about this series is that it goes on hiatus sometimes, and they always feel like a really long time. Otherwise it's great and a heartily recommend it.
