Main Description
Loosely based on a novel by Eiko Kadono. Kiki is training to be a witch. At age 13, it's traditional for witches to live alone for a year. She takes to the skies with her cat Jiji and finds a new home in the city of Koriko. Kiki is only confident in her flying ability and so she starts a delivery service.

Kiki is an adorable, sweet film. It's a bit more grown up than Totoro and Ponyo, but still has a wondrous and magical sort of attitude and stops short of the somewhat melodramatic Whisper of the Heart. One of the best things about this movie is how it captures the thrill of flying and the excitement of being able to go anywhere. And of course, as you'd expect from Miyazaki, it's beautiful, has a wonderful soundtrack, etc. A great movie overall.
